Public Speaking
Public Speaking is the 'Number One' fear provoking situation in the whole world. For many, the fear of public speaking is a downright phobia; They get dry mouth, become speechless, break out in sweat and probably avoid public speaking altogether. For others, public speaking might not cause such great fear, but can still be a rather stressful experience. Again, others might neither feel fear nor stress while speaking in public, but believe they are not as good at it as they should be.
The good news is that everyone can learn to speak in public without fear or stress.
The great Greek orator, Demosthenes, had a speech impediment as a boy, and was laughed at by the audience, when he first made a speech in front of a public assembly. But he undertook a disciplined programme to evercome his weaknesses - which involved talking with pebbles in his mouth - and made his name immortal in the history public speaking. |
Hypnotherapy can be used to identify and unlearn a series of beliefs that keeps you from accessing your full potential when it comes to speaking in public without fear. Further, hypnotherapy can boost both your confidence (including self-image) and memory: It will be easier to speak in public if you do not need to worry about forgetting what you want to say! |
Also, hypnotherapy works with the fact that most of the fear of public speaking comes from focusing on the image we project instead on what we want to say. This shift of focus of attention can dramatically decrease the fear of public speaking. As a general rule, the more we want to give (information, business opportunities, entertainment etc) while speaking in public, and the less we want to take (like fame and acknowledgement) the more our public speaking will be satisfying. Much can be done in hypnotherapy to take away the pressure, thus rendering the task of speaking in public a thrilling, invigorating and joyful experience.
