What is Circling?
Circling is a relational practice that focuses on self-awareness, authentic connection and interpersonal energy. You may think of it as mindfulness while sharing with others. Together, we create a field in which you can engage deeply with your true self and share it with others, without fear of judgment.
Imagine:
- feeling safe while sharing your present-moment thoughts and feelings,
- being in a space where you are encouraged to set and practice your boundaries,
- where your inner world is more important than anything happening “out there,”
- where you can observe how you relate to others without judgement.

During a circling session, something ancient is awakened. In the modern world, we predominantly relate to each other through social status, job titles, and often through the “masks” we are wearing. During circling, we drop all of that. What matters is the here and now: how you feel, what your dreams and hopes are, your inner magic.

Indigenous societies always had practices where the tribe sat in a circle around a fire, connecting to something profound through stories, dance, music, and honest sharing. This is the kind of ancient connection we are reawakening during a circling session.

During circling, expect interpersonal and group exercises that are playful, attentive, and observational, helping you to feel at home and at ease with yourself and others. While circling exercises are usually not based on physical connection, they often have a strong somatic component, where body language plays a great role.

Something magical is happening when you look into another person's eyes. In a society where 'staring' is taboo, when we break the eye barrier, amazing levels of connectedness and belonging can emerge. Practitioners of eye-gazing sometimes report usual, psychedelic-type experiences and deep insights.

Many of us live in big cities, surrounded by masses of people, yet we often may feel lonely. Just being in the same space with others doesn't make us feel connected; quite the opposite: it may deepen the feelings of separation.
Circling is created to bring us closer again, with meaningful experiences that foster genuine connections. |
Why is it called Circling? The term ‘circling’ refers to the shape of the circle. It is in a circle that we sit during our group exercises, and it is in a circle that we rotate while doing paired or small group interactions.
The ‘circle’ is an ancient symbol that represents non-hierarchical, equal participation, and inclusivity. Individual and collective experiences are both included in the circle. The circular formation symbolizes the flow of energy and connection among participants, emphasizing the idea that everyone is contributing to the group's emotional landscape. If you...- long for deeper connections,
