RESEARCH INTO PAST LIVES (REINCARNATION)
My Journey into Past Life Research
"It is not more surprising to be born twice than once," Voltaire famously said and added: "everything in nature is resurrection."
Philosophically, I never had a problem with the idea of reincarnation. In fact, it seemed to be the only religious-spiritual concept which could all our experiences in a satisfactory way, especially some of the most burning questions: Why are some of us born talented, healthy, and loved - while others carry burdens from the start? Why do we sometimes feel we know certain people on a level deeper than we can explain? What is the greater meaning of it all? I also seemed to have an inherent understanding about the continuity of life: as a baby, I remember thinking quite the same way as I do now. I was aware of my individual existence even before I could speak or walk and had a vague memory that I came here from somewhere else...
Still, I would have never thought that one day the idea of reincarnation would become so intriguing to me that I would study it in depth. But so it happened: memories began to emerge for myself as well as for my hypnotherapy clients. These memories had such an impact as if they were from this life. They became part of the personal past and pointed towards a high path into the future. This was exciting and more consciousness expanding than anything else, yet at the same time intellectually infuriating. I struggled to find a suitable theoretical background and methodology for such investigation - and needed time to gradually work it out.
Since, I have conducted hundreds of sessions taking people on journeys into their karmic past. Each and every time, our mutual understanding about ourselves and the nature of reality deepened, often in unexpected ways. Today I know that we are still very far from even scratching the surface of all the wisdom waiting to be uncovered... but I remain convinced that it's worth continuing the research because I have seen the life-changing and life-enhancing power of discovering the past and linking it to the highest possible future.
Frequently, I'm being asked whether I really believed in past lives. After many years of investigation, I say that depends on our level of consciousness and the way we interpret reality. If we think of ourselves as the personalities in our present life (as some "skin encapsulated ego"), then there is no reincarnation, for the ego is mortal. If we think of ourselves as something more (a soul or unit of consciousness which changes not in a random but in an evolving way), then the idea of reincarnation is beginning to make more sense and we can learn from the cycles of life and death. At one point, however, we may arrive at an even higher level of understanding. We shall see that - ultimately - consciousness is a singularity: the one and only "I am" which exists. Once we reach that level of understanding we will understand that reincarnation is not only true - it is the only truth there is.

Here on the website, you can find information about my research project into past lives. You are welcome to participate if you would like to learn about your own karmic past and become part of an interesting project in consciousness research. You can find here some information about the theory and the literature on the topic, as well.
